My visit to #Riyadh is almost over, and as usual, every time I am here, I see new things to be impressed about... Like #Diriyah! I love anything historical and heritage and would love to see more of this going around #Saudi. To think that I lived here most of my life and never managed to properly see the beauty of Saudi until I came back as a tourist makes me think if I'd still think it's all beautiful and great if I live here again 😂 or am I just impressed because I am seeing it through a #traveler's eyes? Coming in to 39 hot and strong but also cool and unbothered, and definitely much better than I thought my 39 would be when I was 19! Anyone else feels the same? 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 There are plenty of things I love about myself and my life, and some I might not like, but I wouldn't change any of it because just as a small butterfly flapping its wings could, hypothetically, cause a typhoon (aka the butterfly effect), the one small thing you might not like about your life could be the one thing holding it together. There were times I didn't like living in #Germany (ok, to be honest, it was most of them time 😂) but I stuck through it, and now I celebrate my first birthday as a German (technically, I'm a German newborn 👶🏻) and ever since moving to #düsseldorf, it's difficult for me to imagine enjoying my life just as much anywhere else: Whether it's taking a short train/flight to another country for a weekend getaway, spending the day at a spa, dancing by the Rhein, indulging in classical music at the Opera or strolling through art and nature... That doesn't mean that I will stop wanting to #travel, but that I'd enjoy exploring the rest of world (I counted, so far it's 38/196 🌍) while having a home to look forward to going back to, for another cup of Karak on my balcony ☕

Last week, I attended @futuretechfest and I think something just clicked in my brains about how I missed being surrounded by inspiring and passionate people, like: 💄 @tijen.onaran sharing her entrepreneurial story as a woman with an immigration background, especially in cultures where a woman's career is but secondary and her professionalism is often questioned 🗿 @andersindset talking about "Lebendigkeit" or liveliness and how much we need it as a human race and how little we experience it or prioritise it these days 👯‍♀️ founders and entrepreneurs like @tobiasklinke and @_haz_sam_ chasing their dreams and working hard for what they believe in... I realized that while I do enjoy working remotely, I'm missing out on the positive influence of others' energy. It is said "if you are the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room!", well I live alone so all rooms are wrong then going to events with much smarter people is the way to go, starting with: 📍 Seamless Europe in #Munich - Sep. 10 & 11 📍 @dmexco in #Cologne - Sep. 18 & 19 I look forward to meeting more awesome people along the way, and if you're going to be there, please say hi and tell me your story!
